Wednesday 28/10/2010 Day1 Final Report from Nationals at Sheffield

Going into the final ranked in 5th place Tomas knew the competition was strong and he would have to swim very fast like he did in the heats. His reaction time for his start was faster than in the heats and the first 50m split was 31.98, the second fifty saw Tomas pick up his stroke rate into the finish and he achieved a further personal best time, finishing in 5th position with a time of 1.07.70!  Wedsesday 28/10/2010 Day 1 Report from Nationals at Sheffield

Arriving safely in Sheffield on the Tuesday evening we collected the necessary poolside passes and Janet attended the important Coaches Technical meeting.Up at 6am excited and ready to be at the pool for the 7.15am warm up. Today was Tomas' favoured event the 100 Back. Tomas who has been coping with an injury to the shoulder went into the warm up to test it. Feeling good he went into the heats ranked 8th. Unsure of how the competition will perform Tomas gave it everything going out in a 50m split of 32.09 and coming home in a personal best time of 1.07.71 securing a place in tonight's final in 5th position.
Well done Tomas great swimming.

There is No Training for Special Abilities Squad for 2 weeks commencing 27th July 2010 and 3rd August 2010. Sessions will resume on 10th August 2010.

Summer Holiday Swimming Session Changes

As a result of several members of the coaching team being on holiday and Janet and Mark being at the National Championships in Sheffield, it has been decided that the Club will have a one week break during the summer holidays :
PLEASE NOTE : The morning sessions will continue and will be for one hour 6am-7am on Monday's, Wednesday's and Friday's for members of the Red, Silver, Gold, Helta, Club Fitness and Masters Squads who are still around and want to swim.
The sessions that will be affected and will not be on are:
Wed 28th July Haileybury 6.30-9.30pm
Fri 30th July John Warner 7-10pm
Sun 1st Aug John Warner 5.15-8.15pm
Mon 2nd Aug John Warner 7-9.30pm
Tues 3rd Aug John Warner 6.10-7.10pm
Wed 4th Aug Haileybury 6.30-7.30pm
It is important to have a break and allow the swimmers to recover and grow during the summer holidays (not Masters though!) and most clubs do in fact shut down for between 2 and 4 weeks. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused by the short notice and we wish you all a very safe and happy summer holidays.
Sessions will return to normal from Friday 6th August 2010.

Simon Balle Pool Closure Notice

Please Note: Simon Balle School Pool is being closed to be re-lined
from 2nd July 2010 and will re-open (we hope) on 6th September 2010.Therefore, the squads affected are invited to the following sessions during this period:
Monday Red Squad - invited to John Warner Monday 7pm-8pm
Monday Blue Squad - invited to John Warner Tuesday 6.10pm-7.10pm
Thursday White Squad - invited to John Warner Friday 7pm-8pm
Thursday Training Squad - invited to John Warner Sunday 5.15pm-6.15pm
 

There is NO TRAINING on the Summer Bank Holidays, i.e. Monday 30th August 2010
