SET YOURSELF A GOAL FOR THIS CYCLE Decide what you want by looking at your pb book, look at the qualifying times for BAGCATS against your times, look within yourself and decide what you want…. 1. Do you want to improve a particular stroke 2. Do you want to improve your diving or backstroke start 3. Do you want to improve a particular turn 4. Do you want to improve say your 100m back by ‘x’ amount of second Example: Goal : Improve my 200m Breaststroke time by 4 secs Now ask yourself : How can I do this: 1. by improving my stroke, turns, start and finish 2. by improving my diet 3. by getting my mind more focussed about the race 4. by training more regularly and seriously What do I have to do: 1. talk to the coaches 2. work out a nutrition plan to suit me, talk to Janet 3. work on positive thinking or imaging speak to Janet to find out more 4. put together a pb and log book and record everything I do Write your goal in the book provided – if you write down a goal you are more likely to achieve it. With the help of the coaches Test and Monitor your performance throughout the cycle and at the end You need to know where you are going, what you want and then how you are going to get there. If you fail to plan you plan to fail. Please feel free to come to me for help and advice. I look forward to reading the goals you have set in the book.
